Afya Shares Rise After Q2 Adjusted Earnings, Net Revenue Gain

10:30 AM EDT, 08/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Afya (AFYA) shares rose 8.1% in recent trading Thursday after the company reported Q2 adjusted earnings of 2.29 Brazilian reais ($0.42) per share, up from 1.42 reais a year earlier.

Two analysts polled by Capital IQ expected 1.95 reais.

Net revenue in the quarter ended June 30 rose to 809.9 million reais from 712.6 million reais a year earlier.

Three analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected 788.6 million reais.

The company boosted 2024 revenue guidance to 3.23 billion reais to 3.33 billion reais from 3.15 billion reais to 3.25 billion reais. Analysts polled by Capital IQ expect 3.24 billion Brazilian reais.
