Endeavour Silver Resumes Processing, Reduces Mining Operations at Guanacevi Mine

07:29 AM EDT, 08/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Endeavour Silver (EXK) said Monday that processing has resumed while mining operations will continue at a reduced rate at its Guanacevi mine site in Mexico after the primary ball mill trunnion failure last week.

The company said it has implemented temporary solutions and estimates a cash shortfall of less than $5 million over an estimated 15-week period of reduced processing at the mine. Endeavour Silver also said it has obtained an initial quotation of $500,000 for trunnion fabrication and a 16-week installation period but is still considering alternatives to shorten the estimated downtime.

Endeavour Silver flagged an expected decline in Guanacevi production during the reduced processing period and withdrew its cost guidance, saying it expects operating costs and all-in sustaining costs to be higher than its 2024 guidance due to the expected downtime.
