Ryder System, Terminal Industries Achieve 99% Accuracy in AI-Powered Yard Operations Pilot Project

07:52 AM EDT, 08/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Ryder System (R) said Wednesday that the pilot program, which uses Terminal Industries' technology to automatically index and analyze trucks and trailers flowing in and out of its e-commerce fulfillment center, has achieved 99% accuracy in capturing license plates and DOT numbers from over 10,000 trucks since January.

Ryder System said that it, together with Terminal Industries, is expanding this technology to additional facilities.

Last month, the companies launched a second pilot project to test Terminal's technology on mobile tablets to auto-capture available inventory at a Ryder truck rental and maintenance facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Last summer, Terminal Industries raised $31 million in a seed investment fund, which included Ryder's corporate venture capital fund RyderVentures.
