Xiao-I Awaiting China Court's Verdict in Patent Infringement Case Against Apple

11:10 AM EDT, 08/27/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Xiao-I (AIXI) said Tuesday it is now awaiting the verdict in the patent infringement dispute between its variable interest entity Shanghai Xiao-i Robot Technology and Apple (AAPL) after the Shanghai High People's Court ended the trial on July 31.

Shanghai Xiao-i filed a lawsuit in August 2020 alleging that Apple's Siri infringed its Chinese patent for an intelligent assistant, Xiao-I said. Apple filed a countersuit in February 2023 seeking compensation for its expenses. The two cases were merged in January 2024 by the Shanghai High Court for trial, the company added.

Apple didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
