国家主席习近平特别代表、中共中央政治局委员、国务院副总理张国清将于5月17日至18日应邀赴阿塞拜疆出席第十三届世界城市论坛领导人峰会。

President Xi Jinping’s Special Representative, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council Zhang Guoqing will be in Azerbaijan from May 17 to 18 for the Leaders’ Summit of the 13th World Urban Forum upon invitation.

应中共中央政治局委员、外交部长王毅邀请，利比里亚外交部长尼安蒂将于5月18日至22日对中国进行正式访问。

At the invitation of Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sara Beysolow Nyanti of Liberia will pay an official visit to China from May 18 to 22.

郭嘉昆：中美经贸关系的本质是互利共赢。双方应共同落实好两国元首达成的重要共识，为中美经贸合作与世界经济注入更多稳定性。

Guo Jiakun: China-U.S. economic and trade ties are mutually beneficial and win-win in nature. Both sides need to act on the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state and inject more stability into bilateral economic and trade cooperation and the world economy.

朝日电视台记者：此次中美元首会谈是否在人工智能合作方面取得成果？中国今后将如何同美国开展人工智能领域合作？

TV Asahi: Are there any outcomes on AI cooperation during the talks between the Chinese and U.S. presidents? How does China and the U.S. plan to carry out such cooperation?

郭嘉昆：中方始终主张各方共同推动人工智能开放、包容、普惠、向善发展。

Guo Jiakun: China believes that all parties should jointly promote the open and inclusive development of AI for good and for all.

总台央视记者：据报道，近日巴哈马举行大选，现任总理、进步自由党领袖戴维斯获得连任。请问中方对此有何评论？

CCTV: According to reports, in the recent general election held in The Bahamas, incumbent Prime Minister Philip Davis, head of the Progressive Liberal Party, was reelected. What’s China’s comment?

郭嘉昆：中方对戴维斯总理成功连任表示祝贺。巴哈马是中国在加勒比地区的重要合作伙伴，中巴关系持续稳定发展。中方愿与巴方共同努力，不断增进政治互信，加强两国各领域互利友好合作，更好造福两国人民。

Guo Jiakun: Both China and the UK are permanent members of the UN Security Council and major economies in the world. To develop a sustained and steady China-UK comprehensive strategic partnership is an important common understanding reached between the leaders of the two countries. China stands ready to maintain close exchanges and dialogue with the UK side and jointly work for continued development in our friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation. On the visit you mentioned, I have nothing to share at the moment.

《纽约时报》记者：特朗普总统访华期间，中美是否就加强农业领域合作达成协议？

The New York Times: Are there any further agricultural deals that China has agreed during President Trump’s visit to Beijing?

郭嘉昆：访问期间，中美双方就保持经贸关系稳定、拓展各领域务实合作、妥善解决彼此关切达成重要共识。中方愿同美方一道，落实好两国元首重要共识，本着平等、尊重、互惠原则，不断拉长合作清单，实现互利共赢。

Guo Jiakun: During the visit, the two sides reached important common understandings on maintaining stable economic and trade ties, expanding practical cooperation in various areas, and properly resolving respective concerns. The Chinese side stands ready to work with the U.S. side to act on the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state and continuously expand the list of cooperation and deliver for both sides in the spirit of equality, respect and mutual benefit.

AFP: During the talks between Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping, did China agree to purchase American oil in the future?

Guo Jiakun: China stands ready to work with all sides to ensure global energy security and keep global industrial and supply chains stable. The pressing task is to restore peace and stability in the Gulf and Middle East region.

Guo Jiakun: Head-of-state diplomacy plays an irreplaceable role in providing strategic guidance to China-U.S. relations. Sound communication and interaction between the two presidents can steer China-U.S. relations in a steady, sound and sustainable direction. The two sides are in communication regarding their interaction for the rest of the year.

日本广播协会记者：发言人能否证实俄罗斯总统普京将访华？

NHK: Could you confirm the report that Russian President Putin will be visiting China?

郭嘉昆：中俄双方一直就筹备两国元首会晤保持着密切沟通，将适时发布消息。

Guo Jiakun: China and Russia maintain close communication on preparations for the meeting between the two presidents. We will release information in due course.

《北京日报》记者：据报道，纽埃议会5月14日选举现任总理塔格拉吉为新任总理。中方对此有何评论？对中纽关系有何期待？

Beijing Daily: It is reported that, on May 14, Niue’s assembly re-elected Dalton Tagelagi as its prime minister. What’s your comment? Can you share China’s expectations for its relations with Niue?

Bloomberg: President Trump posted on social media that the Chinese leader referred to the U.S. as being a “declining nation,” which was actually referring to the period under Biden and other administrations, and not referring to the Trump administration. Does China see today’s America as a country that’s in decline?

郭嘉昆：特朗普总统希望让美国再次伟大，带领美国人民取得了重要发展成就。习近平主席带领中国人民致力于实现中华民族伟大复兴。中美双方可以通过加强合作，促进各自的发展振兴。

Guo Jiakun: President Trump hopes to make America great again. Under his leadership, the American people have scored important achievements for their country’s prosperity. President Xi Jinping is leading the Chinese people in the endeavor of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Both China and the United States stand to gain in their respective development and rejuvenation endeavors from strengthening cooperation with each another.

法新社记者：白宫方面表示，此次中美元首会晤期间，中方已同意帮助重开霍尔木兹海峡。请问中方能否证实？

AFP: The White House has also said that, during talks between President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping, China has agreed to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Can China confirm that it has agreed to do so?

郭嘉昆：中方在伊朗局势上的立场十分明确。这场战事已对包括伊朗在内的地区各国人民造成严重损失，外溢影响还在持续扩大，严重冲击世界经济发展、产供链畅通、国际贸易秩序和全球能源供应稳定，损害国际社会共同利益。这场本不该发生的战事没有任何进行下去的必要，早一点找到解决出路，对美伊双方有利，也对地区各国乃至整个世界有利。

Guo Jiakun: China’s position on the Iran situation is very clear. The conflict has inflicted severe losses on the people in Iran and other regional countries. With the spillover still expanding, the conflict has put a heavy strain on global economic growth, supply chains, international trade order and the stability of global energy supply, which hurts the common interests of the international community. There is no point in continuing this conflict which should not have happened in the first place. To find an early way to resolve the situation is in the interest of not only the U.S. and Iran, but also regional countries and the rest of the world.

近来，美伊实现停火，探索通过谈判解决问题，受到地区国家和国际社会欢迎。中方始终认为，对话谈判才是正道，武力解决没有出路。对话的大门既然打开，就不应再次关上。应稳住局势缓和势头，坚持政治解决大方向，通过对话协商，就伊核等问题达成兼顾各方关切的解决方案。应尽快重开航道，回应国际社会呼声，共同维护全球产供链稳定畅通。应尽快达成全面、持久停火，推动中东海湾局势早日恢复和平稳定，为构建一个可持续的地区安全架构奠定基础。

The recent U.S.-Iran ceasefire and effort to explore resolving issues through negotiation is welcomed by regional countries and the international community. China always believes that dialogue and negotiation is the right way forward, and the use of force is a dead end. Now that the door of dialogue has been opened, it should not be shut again. It is important to steady the momentum in easing the situation, keep to the direction of political settlement, engage in dialogue and consultation, and reach a settlement on the Iranian nuclear issue and other issues that accommodates the concerns of all parties. It is important to reopen the shipping lanes as soon as possible to respond to the call of the international community and jointly keep the global supply chains stable and unimpeded. It is important to reach a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire as soon as possible, enable peace and stability to return to the Middle East and Gulf region at an early date, and lay the foundation for building a sustainable security architecture for the region.

自战事爆发以来，中方一直为止战奔走，为和平尽力。习近平主席郑重提出维护和促进中东和平稳定的四点主张，中国同巴基斯坦提出关于恢复海湾和中东地区和平稳定的五点倡议。中方将继续秉持习近平主席四点主张精神，同国际社会一道，为和谈提供更大助力，为最终实现中东地区持久和平发挥建设性作用。

Since the conflict began, China has been working for an end to the conflict and peace. President Xi Jinping put forward the four propositions on safeguarding and promoting peace and stability in the Middle East. China and Pakistan issued the five-point initiative for restoring peace and stability in the Gulf and Middle East region. China will continue to act in line with President Xi Jinping’s four propositions, and work with the international community to provide stronger support for peace talks and play a constructive role in achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.

《纽约时报》记者：中美元首会晤是否谈及美对华半导体出口管制问题？

The New York Times: Did the leaders of the United States and China discuss export controls, particularly on American semiconductors?

郭嘉昆：中方已多次表明在美输华芯片问题上的原则立场。

Guo Jiakun: The Chinese side has made clear on multiple occasions its principled position on U.S. export of chips to China.

法新社记者：中美元首会晤是否谈及人权问题？是否谈及释放黎智英等？

AFP: Did the two leaders discuss the issue of human rights? Specifically, did they discuss the release of Jimmy Lai and others?

郭嘉昆：关于中美元首会晤，中方已发布了消息。关于黎智英案，中方此前已经多次阐明立场。黎智英是反中乱港事件的主要策划者和参与者。香港事务属于中国内政，中国中央政府坚定支持香港司法机关依法履职尽责。

Guo Jiakun: China has released readouts on the meetings between the two presidents. As to the Lai Chee-ying case, China has made clear its position more than once. Lai is the principal mastermind and perpetrator behind the series of riots that shook Hong Kong. Hong Kong affairs are China’s internal affairs. The central government of China firmly supports the Hong Kong judicial authorities in performing duties in accordance with the law.

《纽约时报》记者：海关总署网站昨天早上更新的消息显示，600家美国肉类加工厂获准对华出口牛肉，但在昨天晚上约400家美国肉类加工厂输华资质失效。中方对此有何回应？

The New York Times: Yesterday morning, the General Administration of Customs website showed that 600 American slaughterhouses have been approved to export beef to China. But yesterday evening, roughly 400 of those slaughterhouses were marked as having export licenses that were not valid. Why did that change during the day yesterday?
